We gather here today, forkers and stargazers alike, to say goodbye to VaaS โ a dreamer, a builder, a TypeScript soul who believed, perhaps more earnestly than most, that Kubernetes management could be both modular and beautiful. VaaS came into this world on August 14th, 2022, born of ambition and late nights, carrying the noble promise of OpenFaaS support and a cleaner path through container orchestration. For 179 days, there was energy here. Pull requests flew. Commits landed with purpose. Sixteen brave souls forked the repository and carried pieces of VaaS into their own worlds, and we honor them today. But as winter arrived, the commits grew quieter. Then quieter still. On February 9th, 2023, VaaS pushed its final change into the void โ nineteen issues left open like unanswered letters on a desk, waiting for a response that the calendar kept promising and the developer kept postponing. One thousand two hundred and forty-one days of silence followed. The repository breathes still, unarchived, which is perhaps the most human thing about it โ the refusal to formally let go, the lingering thought that maybe, someday, someone will return to finish what was started. We know how this story goes. We have all left something unfinished in a tab we never closed. VaaS was not abandoned.
It was simply paused at the edge of something that might have been extraordinary. May your dependencies never deprecate, and your PRs find peace at last.
