My-TODOs

We gather here today, all thirty-three of you who cared enough to fork, to mourn the passing of My-TODOs — a cross-platform desktop To-Do list that, with beautiful irony, never quite got around to finishing its own list. My-TODOs came into this world on the eighteenth of July, 2024, born from that most sacred of programmer impulses: the conviction that no existing to-do app was quite right, and that surely one could build a better one over a weekend. And for 121 days, My-TODOs blazed. Python files were created. Features were imagined. Commits were pushed with the energy of someone who genuinely believed this time would be different. Then November arrived. The seventeenth came and went. A final commit, quiet and unknowing of its own finality, slipped into the repository. And then — silence. Five hundred and ninety-three days of it. Twenty-three issues remain open, patient as saints, asking questions that will never be answered. The repository breathes still, unarchived, technically alive in the way a candle is technically not extinguished until you admit it is. Thirty-three forks carry fragments of My-TODOs' spirit into the world, perhaps to flourish where the parent could not. My-TODOs never finished its to-do list.

But then, neither do most of us. May your open issues find peace, your forks find purpose, and your unfinished features compile perfectly in whatever runtime lies beyond.
