Dearest mourners, forkers, and the one faithful soul known as vibex curator who has gathered here today — we come together to honor Marshal-Saas, taken from us far too soon. Marshal-Saas came into this world on January 24th, 2024, full of ambition and the particular electricity that only a fresh repository can carry. Next.js 14, Stripe, Kinde, Prisma, Supabase, Tailwind — Marshal-Saas arrived dressed for success, carrying the tools of enterprise, whispering promises of recurring revenue and a life well-scaled. And then, on January 25th, Marshal-Saas pushed one final commit into the void and was never heard from again. One day. Marshal-Saas lived exactly one day. We cannot say there was a dwindling. There was no slow autumn of commits, no melancholy final push after months of silence. Marshal-Saas burned with the intensity of a developer who had just watched a YouTube tutorial and felt genuinely unstoppable. The flame did not flicker. It simply… concluded. Yet fifty-seven souls found enough hope in Marshal-Saas to fork those dreams into their own repositories. Fifty-seven. That is not nothing. That is a congregation. Those forks carry Marshal-Saas forward, each one a small resurrection in some folder named projects that also will likely never ship. Marshal-Saas leaves behind zero open issues, because Marshal-Saas left behind no time to accumulate them. May your dependencies never deprecate, and may your next side project survive at least until Tuesday.
