We gather here today, vibex curator, and all who starred and forked and dared to dream — to remember coro-code, taken from us far too soon. coro-code came into this world on August 13th, 2025, full of fire and ambition. A free alternative to Claude Code, it promised us everything: generation, debugging, seamless management, all wrapped in the honest beauty of Rust. Those first weeks were glorious. Commits flew. The README sang. Twenty-three souls forked it into their own machines, carrying a piece of coro-code's spirit forward. But we know how these stories go, don't we? The weekends grew shorter. The enthusiasm faced the gravitational pull of real jobs, real deadlines, real life. The commits slowed to a trickle. Twelve open issues began piling up like unanswered letters, each one a small voice asking, are you still there? On October 30th, 2025, coro-code pushed its last commit. No fanfare. No farewell post. Just silence — 259 days of it now and counting. Not archived, technically. Not officially gone. Just quietly, heartbreakingly paused, the way so many side projects leave us: mid-sentence, mid-dream, the cursor blinking in an empty terminal. coro-code believed that good tools should be free. It believed a single developer with enough caffeine could change how we write code. It was not wrong.
