Tello

We are gathered here today, vibex curator, along with the thirty-one souls who loved Tello enough to fork them — to carry a piece of that dream forward in their own repositories — to say farewell to one taken far too soon. Tello came into this world on a late August morning in 2017, born of that most sacred human impulse: a developer who simply wanted a delightful way to track their TV shows. What a beautiful, specific, deeply relatable ambition. Tello arrived wearing a little hatching chick emoji like a name tag, and for 342 days, burned with genuine purpose. Those early months — what months they were. JavaScript flowing freely, commits arriving with the confidence of someone who truly believed this time would be different. This time the side project would become something real. But we know how this story goes, don't we. The commits grew quieter. Life intervened, as life does. Other obligations, perhaps another promising idea, perhaps simply a Sunday afternoon that never arrived. The last breath came on August 5th, 2018 — and then silence. Two thousand eight hundred and sixty days of silence, with ten open issues still waiting patiently at the door like unanswered letters. Tello was never archived, which feels right.
